I was wondering if the samurai lift springs just replaced the stock leaf springs? Or do you have to make some modifications.

Offhand, when you do a suspension lift, you must

Lengthen the brakelines

Extend the driveshafts a bit depending on the amount of lift. This is often done with driveshaft spacers or extended slipyokes (http://www.trailtough.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=91&category_id=12&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=53.

Modify the draglink. In the case of a spring under lift, raising the tierod end (by replacing it with a draglink attached to a aftermarket steering arm) or install a drop pittman arm will reduce bumpsteer caused by the lift.

Oh, and longer shocks.

High arched springs that fit the stock mounts go from 1 inch to probably a maximum 3 inch of extra arch. If you stay with a one or two inch spring in the stock configuration of spring under axle with stock length shackles You can get away with just a drop pitman arm. With the three inch spring in stock configuration you will need longer brake lines and an extenson on the top of the shock post. If you go shackle reverse, or extended shackles with a 3 inch spring you will go up an additional 2 inches and you definitely need longer shocks, and the extension on your drive shaft.

Spring over you have a lot of work to do (as per Ack's post)
