Had our first proper "bumpy" Coastguard shout on Tuesday - had to drive to a remote spot near the coast path - the Ignis did well but that front spoiler thing almost got ripped off and I heard a few slightly alarming noises.

Anyone bash proofed theirs in any way? Just think it might need a bit of protection!

You do realise AWD/4WD does not raise your vehicle and give extra clearance to avoid hitting rocks and stuff when you see them on the track in front of you don't you?

Adding protection, like bash-plates adds stuff you get stuck on (Wheels free spinning in the air) with less damage caused!

more likely to slide over stuff than get hung up on it with decent bash plates in my experience. They stop that "sticky up" stuff from puncturing the important bits like oil pans and gearboxes.
