All The Basic Info People Ask About When They First Get On Here

TO START I am making this thread because I wanted something that people could turn to when they first get on here and need to know some info fast and make it easy to find, I am not saying that i am an expert so if anything on here that i have said is wrong feel free to correct me.

The Forenza and the Reno are the same chassis, suspension and power train. The only real difference is the body and the interior. There are European and Canadian, Korean Models that are the same but named different.
Chasis models
Forenza/ reno: base, convenience, and popular (not available on Reno)
The differences are just the option that come with the car. They all have the same D-Tec 4 cylinder engine. There are only 2 different transmission either automatic or manual, I do not know the model numbers.

RIMS and TIRES:
The lug pattern is 4X114.3mm offset is 40
The stock size rims are 15", they are wrapped in 195/55/R15
If you have the stock tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) the sensors are built into the valve stems like all GMs

LOWERING SPRINGS:
There are very limited options for our vehicles you have APEX springs and use stock struts or go all out and get variant coilovers

SPARK PLUGS:
The Spark Plugs NGK-BKR6EK, BOSH-FLR8LDCU there are others but these are the 2 closest to stock (im sure the stock one is a bosh)

Pyaaw, I read message. I recently got 2004 Forenza with 2.0 engine. I need to know
what aitifreeze to use. It has 30,000 miles and requires a complete aitifreeze change.
The antifreeze in it now is between orange & yellow color.

James L, As long as it is DEX-COOL approved coolant you are fine.

Magnacore spark plug wires (8mm) (Ebay)

Brakes:
Wilwood Big Brake kit (kinky motorsports)
Stock size slotted/drilled rotors (Ebay)
Green stuff brake pads (Ebay)

Forenza/Optra Lip kit (Kinky motorsports)
Reno/optra 5 Lip kit (Kinky motorsports)

This is all i can think of right now. These parts are designed for the car and are relatively easy to get. Anything beyond these parts,your gonna need to ask and search around. Hope this helps alot of new members

Hi, Great info,Maybe you could help. I have a 2004 XL& 4wd just put new tires on. Replaced the orig Bridgestome with KUMO sloris. The orig tire pressure placard states 26 front and 36 back. Biggest range I have ever seen. I want to just go with 32 all around for even wear. any Ideas?

The big difference in the tire pressure is probably due to it been a 4WD. In most cases you'd keep them at the same pressure so that you can get good gas milage on the road (highway and city driving). Im assuming the 26 is for when your going offroading as a lower tire pressure will help grip on offroad surfaces

Like phatslaya said, it is most likely for offroading. are the replacement tires the same exact size as the old stock ones?

And 32 sounds fine, basically as long as you are below the maximum rated tire psi for the tire manufacturer (thats cold psi) you are ok. Just keep an eye on your tire wear. because zuki may have the fronts lower psi to keep the front suspension in alignment. not that 1/8 of height will do much in the short run, but over time it may.
what psi did you have in your old ones?

Shift knobs: our cars have the lift reverse style shift knob for the manual transmission.

It is a good selection so far, but many other good analysis are still missing. I will add some of them soon. Keep up the good work. ;)
