Goodday all,

Is the airbag module "married" to the car or can it be replaced by an other one without programming e.g. VIN?
Got dtc B1011 probably meaning configuration is not matching the car.

Best, Jorg

yep, modules are programmed at the factory to match the other ECU's in the car and are not directly "plug and play"
This code can be confusing as different manufacturers define it as an O2 sensor, or TPP sensor as well as an SRS mismatch code.

depending on model this code can be caused by a mismatch between the car ECM's and the SRS module. Basically, the SRS controller doesn't recognise the configuration of the car its connected to, or the number of airbags attached.

So, you can't just replace a SRS module with another without having it coded to the rest of the cars ECU's and ABS module as well. Specialised scan tool time as these are designated "critical safety" items and require specialist tools to code to the car.
