I was wondering if having my ac hooked up and running on my samurai would result in a huge horsepower loss when light trail riding. I have a header and weber carb on mine. It seems like i have more than enough power now. I upgrade my duct blower motor nd it blows like a banshee now. Now it would be nice to maybe having some cold air blown out of it but i don't want to make it a slob on the trail. What is everyone's opinions and if there is anything you have done so it don't take a lot of power like everyone complains about. Thanks

It does cut the power noticeably while running, but on the trail, taking it slow, it's not really noticeable unless you are climbing a steep hill.

The actual power loss is probably less than 5 HP.

I would not get rid of it. All you have to do is push the A/C button to turn it off in the rare cases where it makes a difference.
