HEllo everyone,
I am new here and i i got a problem with my Rig and i know that alot of you guys have tech hands on and are alot more capable than i am so i would like some assistance please.


Ok so i imported a used Jimny JA11 from Japan with an F6A 3cyl turbo engine vehicle was working fine for the past month, then all for a sudden i noticed that while driving at night when the lights were turned no and i depress the accelerator to over take the vehicle would hesitate and if i were to release a bit it would accelerate gradually, however if i where to gradually depress the accelerator pedel then i wont get the hesitation neither with the lights off.

I suspected an electrical charging problem and had the charging system checked out and it was ok. ...then the problem started during the day with lights off and A/C off to, so i suspected Fuel shortage and i changed the fuel filter and the problem did get better but it was still prevalent so i had the gas tank serviced and fuel pump pre strainer cleaned and the problem still persised .

Next i checked the fuel pressure and i was told that it was excellant and 55 (PSI) ( not to sure but i know it was 55 sumthing as i saw it ).

now its gottern so bad that i would start the vehicle and drive around 1 mile then the vehile will start to hesitate once it hits 3500rpm and it would momentarily die and then speradically excelerate and continue over and over the only thing that helpes, is if i swich it off for 2 seconds and restart it then it would drive for approximatly 1 mile and do it all over again....

The is one thing that i have been noticing lately but i was told that this couldnt cause my problem....Every morning when i start my vehicle i notice a red indicator to the right most corner of my dash board, it never use to come on but i comes on when the engine is first started in the morning and once i drive approximatly 1000meters it disappears.

it has something to do with the cataylic converter it red and has some little heat disspating signes to the top ...i was told its got to do wit a temperature sensor on the Cataylic converter ...tried disconnecting it completly but the light on the dash board stayed on perminently and the hesitation still persisted.

So what then could it be ? I cant take it in to the Mechanic because no one knows much over in my country about the JA11 and no one knows how to get the fault codes ( IF anY) because i dont see the check engine light comming on

Anyone got a sugestion

It sounds like it might be a loose alternator. I had the same problem, thought it was something in the fuel, and realized it just needed a new belt. Super quick and easy fix.
