I have an Australian '96 Suzuki Sierra SJ80, carb engine. Of late the vehicle will run for approx 45mins, then lose all power and stall. If I release the fuel tank cap, I get a abnormaly large amount of pressure released, but am then able to restart the vehicle and continue my journey. This has basically necessitated the need to release pressure from the fuel cap before every journey to enable pain free travel for the approx 45mins of time.

- My limited research tends to point me in two directions;

1. blocked fuel tank breather hoses;or

2. faulty charcoal canister

Hoping to get some insight from the knowledgeable out there before I pay $250 for a new charcoal canister from a dealership.

Many thanks in advance,
