Hello all, recently my son and I overhauled a motor out of the same year and model Tracker. Only a few differences between the vehicles was the transmissions, ous is manual 5 speed 4x4 and the other was an automatic with AC, I'm not sure if it was a 2 or 4 door or 4x2 or 4x4, but I can find out if necessary. One visible difference on the motor is the TPS, the one on the old motor is larger in diameter and its ohm range stops around 5.5K, the one on the newer motor is smaller and read 4.5K ohms. Now for my question...Will this difference change how the computer controls the motor at high speeds under a load?
Thanks for any help, the Chiltons is better at starting fires than repairing Tracker engines.

Thanks Darrell,

Based on the ohm values I think I'll have to swap out the intakes to put the larger TPS on the motor. Another perplexing quandary is the dealership shows the larger TPS as the only one available for all models, how bizarre is that?
