I bought an 88 samurai a few weeks, drove it home and it ran fine for a while. Offroaded it last weekend and I started having problems. It runs good for 10 or 15 minutes and then sputters out and dies, then it will crank and start and run for a few seconds and sputter out again. It has new plugs, coil and wires, it is getting gas. The thing that worries me is that almost all of the vacuum lines have been plugged. Any ideas?

if it has a stock carb on it then that is a problem. If it has an aftermarket carb like a weber, then that is necessary since the weber doesn't use all of those vacuum lines. You may be having a fuel delivery problem. offroading it may have unsettled some crap in the tank or even in the carb itself.

why are ALL the vaclines plugged? dont assume the previous owner had everything right. and stay away from carb adjust till you're sure everything else is right. sounds like somethin is sticky in your intake though. look for mud and water, maybe blow a little carbcleaner through and change the fuel filter to help your diagnosis (?)
