so my 87 samurai is over heating very quickly at idle (about 10 min).?

the water pump and t-stat are about 1year old

the radiator has flow through it

the fan clutch has little to no resistance, when checked hot

it blows hot out the vents

so i ask the question do i replace the fan clutch or take it out and replace with a direct fan (runs engine speed) or electric fan or do i have another problem?

side note, if it is the fan clutch is there a nice electric fan conversion kit specifically made for this model?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

take out the fan clutch repack it with auto parts rtv silicone reinstall it and your good. do not put a electric fan unless you have or are going to put at the same time a g.m alternator. stock alternators have a low amps and you will have problems the rtv silicone is very cheap and easy fix.remove the four screws that hold the clutch to the water pump remove the four screws on the fan clutch itself repack it a any color rtv high temp or not dont matter and re install everything you will never over heat for many years to come till the stat is due for a change again..
