I am currently working to replace a bad front CV joint on my 87 LT4WD. I managed to get the entire unit apart with the axel shaft still in the inner race. However, i now need to replace it with the new race as the current is damaged. Does anyone know if there is a trick to removing it from the shaft or does it have to be pressed out? I have read several forums and they all seem to refer to a snap ring that typically holds the race on the shaft. Unfortunately, this model does not have one as far as i can tell yet the race simply will not budge off the shaft. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!
