Hay I am not sure if this is where this question belongs but I think that an sj410 and a Jinny are the same.

Any ways I just picked up an 83 SJ410 and it has a useless pile of steel that some one called an engine in the front. EFI 3 cyl Forsa G10T engine, turbo has been removed, I am looking to put a carbourated engine in it and have found a Nissan Z20E engine that I can get. Dose any body know of a kit or if it is possible to mate an engine like this to a Suzuki SJ410,

I am really only worried about the shaft that runs from the tranny into the clutch.

Thanks

The 3 cyl 1 liter did ok in the subcompact commuter cars, but in a 4x4 with the turbo removed... Thats just rediculous. No idea what's been done to that rig or it's transmission to mate it to the forsa engine, I'd recommend replacing the tranny allong with the engine and getting a matched set. If you're concerned about the intermediate shaft between the tranny and the T-case, the t-case and tranny can be massaged around a bit to line it all up correctly as long as you keep the size of the transmission and the location of the output shaft pretty close to stock.

You can fab anything into your SJ410 if you have the mind to...

However, the G10 3-cylinder, the G10 4-cylinder (which, I believe is what came with the truck) and the G13 engines have the same bolt pattern for the transmission bellhousing. Swapping a G13A/B engine out of a Samurai or other Suzuki vehicles that used the G13 would far easier.

To verify this, go to Suzuki LJ10 and LJ20 Info etc. www.lj10.com or Login and ask this question to a guy named smuz.

I hope that this helps!

The G10 and G13 4-cyl engines do not have the same bolt pattern and are not interchangeable.
You would really need to use the engine and gearbox from the donor and fab a new propshaft between the gearbox and t/case. Easiest swap would be the 1.3 from the SJ413 or Samurai but you will need to relocate one engine mounting, fab new gearbox mounts and relocate the gear lever hole.

...or you can ask Rhinoman, whose knowledge I respect and count on.

Sorry about that...

Thanks I appreciate the help, and I think I might get the tranny with the engine, I think it might be a bit easier to make a custom drive shaft or drive shaft connection then a custom engine to tranny connection.

I will probably have some hacking to do anyways because the other guy pulled the whole tranny forward so the tranny would reach the engine.

If anybody has any other ideas for a good engine I would love to hear it, I dont want EFI tho, dont like installing electricall.

Thanks, wish me luck.

Just a small correction, the SJ410 engine is an F10A engine, not a G10. I don't think that there is a 4-cyl G10 engine.

There is a G10B that was produced in india for the maruti Zen,(india exclusive version of the suzuki alto) It was exported to certain european countries, and the engine is only available in India and the countries that it exported the ZEN to. SOHC 4 cyl 8 valve 1 liter engine aluminum block available in either carburetted or MPFI.

Bit of trivia

No heard of that one before. We got Maruti built Altos in the UK but they had the 3-cyl 1ltr engine, the G10B sounds like a much nicer engine.

I think it was in the alto III. Not positive. It was however only in one make of the alto. Afterwards the engine production was discontinued.
