I have an 87 Samurai 1.3 and the #3 cylinder is dead. Checked the plug, wire, distributor & cap. Everythings fine.
Has anyone had an issue with the EGR sending exhaust gas to the #3 and killing the fire?

Thanks.

Has it got compression? Mine did that when a valve stuck open.

160+ dry & 170+ wet on all cylinders
did a vacuum check last night. Nothing out of the ordinary
going to do a spark check just to eliminate spark from the equation.
changed #2 & #3 plugs & wires already. didn't help.

It's not following all the logical rules for a dead cylinder.
Thanks for the help

Any carbon tracks or cracks in the distributor?

replaced cap & rotor
bought spark tester.
all 4 cylinders sparking fine
removed intake and found big piece of gasket missing on #3 cylinder (see pic)
I'm hoping this was the problem.

That would cause the cylinder to run lean, so hopefully that will cure your problem.

Got the intake gasket replaced. Added a new Weber carb. Runs like a top now.
Do they make weber's that small?

Yes. It's a 32/36 downdraft. Has all the adaptors. bolted right up using the stock air cleaner.

let me know how it behaves, I know someone who is looking at a carb swap, do you know what jets you have in it?

I'm a 4 barrel junkie, not so hot on the 2 barrel babies.

So far it's running fine. Not sure what jets are in it. It was supposed to already be jetted for the application.
