Can I install 215/75-15 tires on my completely stock 88 Suzuki Samurai? It's got 205/75-15's on it now with no apparent issues, and I think stock it came with 205/70-15's. I'd like a little bigger tire, and there are more options in that 215/75 size bracket, but I don't want anything rubbing or binding.

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

I have ran 225/75-15 tires on aftermarket 15x7 wheels, on one of my stock samurais before and they cleared fine. So you should have no issues with 215s.

Original 1988 Samurai tires were a 205-70-15.

The 205 specs are: 26.3" tall and 790 RPM (Revolutions per mile)

The 215 specs are: 27.7" tall and 751 RPM

So basically the 215 is 10 millimeters wider and 1.4" taller. Your speedometer reading and around town gas mileage will be effected. On the bright side, your highway mileage will be slightly better. Also the higher aspect ration tire (215) will ride just a little bit smoother as well.

Hope this helps.
