Hey guys. Long time 1g sidekick fan, looking into an SX4 as a fuel efficient daily and possibly an upcoming cross country trip vehicle. I know the earlier modes have the option to electronically select 2wd, 2wd intelligent/auto, and 4x4 lock.
Do the newer ones (2012) still have this option? I’m noticing a nomenclature change from 4x4 to awd in regard to the newer models in some places. I would much prefer that system to a constant (Subaru style) awd.
Also, I don’t suppose “4x4 lock” is actually locking the center differential? More of just a constant torque factor to the rear tires?
Any issues I should aware of with the j20b? Timing chain issues or otherwise?
