Hi,
Noticed a possible problem with our 2006 swift steering last night. It seemed to intermittently give a lot of assist at varying vehicle speeds. I noticed it but my wife hasn't.
Does anyone know if steering assist system is hydraulic, electro/hydraulic or electric?
If hydarulic, then maybe there are air bubbles in the system?
If electric then lordy knows why it is providing added assist. Problem with torque sensor?

all help much appreciated

cheers

Hydrarulic. Check the fluid level in the reseviour beside the drivers headlight. Just put ATF in it if it's low. It's possible the pump is screwed but I've only replaced a few pumps.
If it's low the fluid si leaking out somewhere. Check around the pump - sometimes the top fitting comes loose - especially if you've had the T belt replaced that line gets bent out of the way - and sometimes loosens off.
