Hi guys

New to the forum, signed up to ask some advice.

Long story short, other half was driving and fan belt snapped, running the battery flat, upon re starting after a full charge it won't fire.

We have two keys, both just plain metal - no fob.

If I'm right in thinking the immobiliser/transponder is locked, how do I get around this problem with only metal keys?

I've heard there is something can be done with a special type of scanner, but I don't have that luxury!

Thanks in advance.

The transponder is usually in the plastic part of the key.
If your keys are all metal then you may not have an immobilizer
Lets start by looking for spark at the plugs.
Then try listening for fuel pump prime when the key is first turned to the on position.
Check fuel pressure during crank.
Most immobilizers I know of .. stop the fuel pump from operating to keep the engine from starting.
Some turn off the fuel pump after a moment of driving.

So, we'll start with some of the basics to get an idea of what is going on.
