Hey guys, this is my first thread in this forum. I do have a reputation at mbworld.org, tundrasolutions.com and tacomaworld.com with the same user name, so I know how this works.

I'll be trying to do my best to help others with my humble knowledge and will be posting anything I can gather from my recently purchased suzuki kizashi 2012 and share with you all the information I can.

My first review. 1 month of ownership and 1500 miles.

I should begin saying that I owned a 2005 C230 Mercedes in Venezuela for 4 years, currently own there a 2000 Bmw 528i with only 40k actual miles, so the car is perfect. In Florida, I own a 2009 Mercedes Benz C300 4WD.. Please don't get me wrong, what I want to say is that I'm used to drive german fine cars, so my review should be a bit different as a review from someone coming from a Corolla or a Mazda 6...

Even with my german cars experience, I can definitely say THIS CAR IS AWESOME!. Period!

Yes, a few flaws, there are no perfect cars anywhere. but for the price you pay, the thing is amazing.

I bought my beautiful red 2012 Suzuki Kizashi SE from a dealer in Orlando FL a month ago.

I did not take a test drive of this car, I just wanted a car that was new because I travel a lot and also a car that gives me better mpg than my mercedes. In Venezuela Gas is almost free, so when you come to the US gas prices really hit hard.

I got my paperwork and received the car, 10 miles in the dash. This was also my first CVT car, so I didn't know too much about that transmission.

Exterior:

This car is beautiful, the color is brilliant and great looking. I like the 18" rims it has, also love the headlights projector lenses and the rear side of the car is big and really nice.

What would I change on the exterior?
I'm not so sure of the exhaust pipes... Its just my opinion. I like them, but not 100%... Maybe they're just too big.

Interior:

When I first step into the car, the interior remembered immediately a fine, well assembled, German car interior. It's just PERFECTO.. Sober, high quality materials, nothing exaggerated, classy and elegant but sporty as well. I hate the new interiors in Kia's and Hyundai's, too much plastic and extremely dramatic designs looking for attention.

When you get into a mercedes or a bmw you'll see a simple but well crafted and sober dash design, that's exactly what you get on the Kizashi. So I fell in love immediately... I like the door panels and the interior door handle with the light chrome accent, it just makes you feel like you are into a 40k car. So far away from toyota and honda....

I also like the steering wheel, the seats, the space, you get a huge glove box and nice visibility. The buttons at the dash are soft and easy to reach, AC is excellent and I love the light tone you get from the cluster when you activate the turning lights.

What would I change from the interior?
You should be able to raise the passenger seat, its too low and you can't move it.

Mechanical:

I like the engine, its not too noisy and its very nice with the RPM at cruising speeds. Seems to be strong and dependable.
The CVT, its my first one, I'm still getting used to it. But I only get a little lag when going from D to R, don't know if this is normal.

Suspension: PERFECT

Brakes: ONE OF THE BEST BRAKES I EVER TESTED

Driving dynamics: I won't say its a BMW or a Mercedes, but its close, its wayyyyy over what you get from Toyota or Honda, but its still not a BMW... The price isn't either.

Steering: Precise and sporty, love it.!

Front end:
There's something in this car I'm not completely satisfied at. The front end suspension links and bushings. Its kind of noisy in bumpy roads, I'm not sure if its only my car...

But yesterday I changed the oil myself (I tend to do that on new cars and stick mobil 1 to them from the very beginning) and noticed that the control arms and sway bar links are too small for a car that size... The mercedes c300 is a noticeable smaller car and the front end bars and links are huge compared to this one.. Never saw control arms and things like that in a toyota, but I don't know, I still think they are too small..

What would I change mechanically?
I would prefer a standard 6AT transmission and use bigger and stronger parts in the front end.

My final thoughts:

There's absolutely no way you can get a better equipped car for this price. Its just excellent.

in my country,
ron 95 is RM1.90 per litre,
ron 97 is RM2.70 per litre.

when people here choose to buy a new car,
we must know does it run on ron95,

do kizashi run on ron95 for long period have any side effect on the engine?
because the sale-person remind us to fill in ron97 !

With the sls model you receive the better suspension and height adjustable seats. Concerning the cvt, once you learn to feather the gas pedal like you would a clutch pedal you will be doing 0 to 60 in under 7 seconds. Happy Kizing!

My mistake. You are right. There is no height adjustment for the passenger seat. Just forward, backward and tilt. Well at least they do not have to worry about the driver having a eject button.
