Guys I am going to order a adapter this week and need some "more" advise. I have found kits on ebay, Petroworks, Rocky,...ect. They pretty much look the same except the Petroworks which has a better mount system, but the prices very from 140-260. I plan on no rock crawling,"not avaliable in Florida" and it will be a daliy driver. Is there anything I really need to be looking for in an adapter. And I agree cheap is not always the way to go but is handy at times! Thanks

Just converted my sami to a 1600 16v with an adaptor plate I got off e-bay and am very happy. The quality of the kit was exerlent even down to the instructions. All the fitting hardware was included in the kit. You wont be dissapointed with the power gains I am running at 95 horses at the rear wheels and that with 30" tyres and no diff or gear box reduction.

I went with a 8V 1.6 and a really cheap install. My engine with the custom cam, header and Pony carb is pushing 100+hp and wow what a difference. If you want me to post pics of the tranny mods and engine mount mods let me know. I know they are posted under a different thread somewhere here but can't remember where. Check out KORE4X4.com for more info. he is based in Vancouver Canada and should be able to give you some more in depth info.

hi J
No I didnt do the sump conversion, although the instructions to this kit does have a good picture on what to do. I have about 80mm of lift so should be good. I have however got bump stop extentions in place.
I will see if I can find the instruction and post the oil pick up mod drawing here if you need it.

I recently did a 1.6 8 valve installation and I liked the Petroworks mounting which lowered the engine and trans. giving the necesary hood clearance. The radiator assembly needs lowering to match which is easy by drilling new holes in the lower mounts. I used the 1.3 pan which needs "hammering" at the rear for clearance and some welding to the pickup tube to align it with the different pan.
