04VeronaEX is on a distinguished road
Smile "Hold" flashing & "check engine" on...Fixed

I have an 04 Verona Ex that had both lights come on after high water. The car idle was high and trans was in 3rd gear only. An OBD II scanner reported "crank position sensor". I replaced it with 3/8 rachet, extensions, metric sockets and an allen socket but I disconnected the (+) post first. Upon the replacement, I noticed that the factory connection wires were exposed from the horrific angle(bad design). Ohm meter confirmed it was good so I used liquid tape to seal this possible trouble spot. Total was less than $50 for the part & liquid tape. I cleared the codes before starting the car & no problems. It is a tight fit so if you are bigger than me, Lrg glove, your hand might not fit. Good luck.
PS Thanks for the post of noisy lifters due to sludge. I used a oil treatment & it is quiet again.:)
