Default My 04 verona oil pan drain plug

has a copper washer on it. Will I need to replace this with each oil change?

It's called a crush washer, and many people, including most manufacturers, will tell you that you do need to change it every time the plug is removed.

I have re-used crush washers in the past without problem, but I wouldn't re-use it more than a few times.

The only way I can see an oil pan cracking from not having a washer would be from extremely over tightening the plug. But even then cracking molded aluminum from just that seem way to far out there.
I would say the most likely reason would be from the pan getting hit.

Can you tell how the crack runs on the pan?
