Default I need advice for my 06 Verona..

I have a 2006 Suzuki Verona at 74,000mi. I've had the catalytic converter replaced and the shifter replaced. I had it towed 3 weeks ago because I began experiencing hard pulling in the engine when I was accellerating from a stop light, to get on the freeway, or simply just while I'm driving. At the time, I also had heavy vibrations that were occurring in the engine while I was stopped at stop lights. I took it to a repair center that found that I needed to replace my engine ingnition coil. This was was was causing the 'misfires' or vibrations I had been experiencing. I pick up my car 2 weeks ago and am still experiencing the hard pulling with I accellerate. Makes me nervous to even pull in front of traffic, worried I wont be able to go fast enough. I brought my car back, they kept it for 3 days and could not 'duplicate' the problem. I took the mechanic on a test drive and it drove fine. SO I took my car home. A week later, it's safe to say that I experience this 'pulling' everytime I drive. It happens when I back out of parking spaces and shift into drive, it pulls. Leaving red lights, and merging onto the freeway. I'm bringing it back in to the shop 1st thing in the morning. I want this fixed. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas of what this could be? Based on the many people I've spoken to, everyone points to tranny. I don't to be taken advantage of at this shop, I don't believe I am, but I am hesitant. I payed $500 3 weeks ago for the work that was done. I don't want to keep shoveling out more. Does anyone understand?

How many ignition coils were replaced? It's possible they didn't replace all the ones that are failing...Ask for the diagnotic codes and post them on here for us. Is the engine light on, and is it flashing on and off when the engine is misfiring?

Default Thank for your reply!

Hi Jeff, I only had only ignition coil #1 replaced and my cylinder head cover gasket. When I had taken it in for that service, my 'check engine light' was not on. However, last night when I started my car that light came on and stayed on. When I reversed out of my parking space, and changed into Drive, pressed on the accelerator it's like my car 'buckled' (best word to describe) 3 times before it would go. Then, after that for my entire drive home when I would accellerate it felt like I was drving a big rig. The engine would rev and my rpm would skyrocket, BUT I was barely picking up speed. Had to take the back roads home vs. the freeway because I was afraid I would never get up to speed. I was able to reach 40 mph after a while and I kept the speed just fine. Then I would stop at a light, and have to go again and I would accellerate hear that rev and barely pick up speed. I took my car back to the shop this morning, it was driving fine (nothing like last night) until the last light before I turned into the shop. I stopped at the light, turned green and I accelerated like normal, but my car did that 'buckeling' 4 times before I was able to go. I feels like tug-of-war. Someone pulling my car back as hard as they can, 4 times.

I'm hoping that now since my check engine light is on that will help out the mechanics a bit. I'll get that code once I've heard from them.

Does it sound like a transmission problem at all to you? Or more minor? I'm not knowledgeble when it comes to cars. And the mechanics don't seem to understand what I'm explaining, and haven't been able to 'duplicate' the problem thus far. This the 3rd time in the shop in the last month for this same problem.

My advice to you is to trade it in. I had exact same problem and my engine died. I was on my way to the dealer to trade it in and my engine locked up 1 mile from the dealership 140,000 miles.
