Unhappy 2004 Suzuki Verona

Hi,

My ignition locked up and I could not turn the key, regardless of how I adjusted the steering wheel. I was told I needed a new ignition, which I purchased. The ignition came with a new key/remote. When I tried to get the remote programmed, the dealership told me they needed the original remote to get the program code. They later told me I needed some type of computer as the new remote would not accept any codes/programming. The costs was $400+ just for the part. I decided to wait to a later date to have the new remote programmed. When I got ready to leave the dealership, I noticed my original remote was no longer working. The sales rep said they when they took out the program code of the new remote, they found the computer was not working and was not able to re-program the original remote nor the new remote. Now I have two remotes that do not work. Can someone please explain what could be the problem and why my original remote that previously worked is no longer working?

this happend to me, the original remote wont work because now it is programmed to the new key which in your case they did not programmed yet, now i have new key that i use to turn on the car and open the trunk and the doors through the remote but if i want to open the trunk and the doors from the key i will have to use the old one, everytime anyone see my key handle they ask me why do i have a spare key carried with me and i always explaine this ignotion problem lol. and yes its expensive, i paid exactly $986.12 on credit card.
