Default Engine does not start right away Chev Epica

My 2005 chev Epica does not start right away. the engine turns over but does not start right away. then after a period of time, sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 20 it starts up.
My dealership is unable to pull up any error codes, but suggested a new fuel filter. I bought a new fuel filter and thenext day I had the same engine starting problems.
Any suggestions?

You did not mention mileage but I would check fuel pressure and if ok I would do a decarbon, clean the injectors and change the spark plugs. Excess carbon in the combustion chamber and on the valves act like a sponge and absorb the fuel before it can be ignited resulting in hard/long starts. Common on these after 30,000 Miles
If fuel pressure is below specs then you of course need a fuel pump.
