Question air conditioning problem

Hello, I'm new to the forum. I have an 04 Verona which I fell for at the 04 Philly Auto show. It has been running fine so far with none of the big problems I have read that can happen to this car (knock on wood). A week or two ago I started to experience my air conditioning working sporadically then hardly working at all. I was told by the service department at my dealer it was low on charge, so they gave it a small charge. When I got it back it didn't work at all. After another visit they said the connection to the compressor from the wiring harness was corroded and that's why the compressor wasn't kicking on. They said they cleaned the connection and did a minor re-route of the harness to keep it from getting that dirty again. It worked fine for a couple of days, but now I think it's acting up again. Has anyone else experienced this? The car is just out of full warrantee wouldn't you know, and I really don't want to get nickel and dimed by by the dealer if that's their game. Thanks, Jerry.
