AC, wiper washer fluid, and noise

I have a 2008 SX4 crossover. It has 80K on it. My wiper squirter stopped working. At first, it just was gimpy when i first tried it, and now nothing. the back one works fine. I do hear the pump noise when i try. I will check for a clog or hose issue, but in case it is related to the next issue, I wanted to note it.

My AC died today. It comes on for a little and then blows hot air. If it is the AC clutch - about how much to repair? Can I ignore it until next summer?

When i come to a stop and turn off the radio and everything else i hear a humming from the dashboard or just beyond that. Kinda of sound like if someone is mowing the grass a half a block away and you are inside with all the windows closed - just barely there - it seems to get louder once i am at a complete stop - at first i barely hear it then 2 seconds later it hums a bit louder - what could this be?

Also, ever since i bought this new and i used the wipers heavily (not often; usually a few times in the summer and mostly in the winter with snow) I smell a really hot rubbery smell when I get out the car. Dealer couldn't duplicate the problem so they dismissed it.

I had to replace two right side tie rods recently - is that normal?
THanks.

UPDATE- Today it overheated

Can anyone tell me if the my sudden loss of AC the other day is related to the fact that my SX4 overheated today. I drove about 40 miles and when i got to my office I heard a minor bubbling noise near the radiator. I popped the hood and saw nothing unusual, no antifreeze smell really. I did see liquid on the inside of the front wheels a little; not too much. I saw no antifreeze in the reserve tank

It didn't do the big steam up; but when i got in to drive it to the garage, it went right into the red on the gauge, i cranked the heat and it came down and i made it to the garage ok.

If anyone know what this might be, please let me know so i can call the garage. please tell me it won't be anything expensive!!
Thanks.

Your initial A/C problem was probably related to the (yet to be discovered) engine overheating problem. The computer shut down your A/C as a precaution, in other words.

We have no idea what your coolant leak, inoperative fans, belt broke, thermostat issue or ?? fault is at this computer distance.

You need a professional / thorough (hands-on) inspection to get it sorted out. ;)

Hopefully it's something easy to fix, but don't continue to drive it, as you can incur significant engine damage.

I did also notice that it took a lot longer for my heat to come on this morning
Probably due to a low coolant level (leaked or forced out) from the related overheating experience.

You need both the coolant TANK and RADIATOR topped off, if you want to poke around under your hood yourself, to judge if you are low on same.

Cracked Radiator at 80K!

So the radiator is cracked - they are replacing it today ($415) and then test if it was caused by another issue. I almost hope it is but a cheap one. I just can't phathom a radiator, even plastic, cracking at 80K.

So shouldn't my check engine have come on?????? For 4 years i stared at the temp gauage with no change ever, so it wasn't something i watched much.

I had a bronco II with endless coolant issues - i got a new radiator, heater core, themostat, hoses, belts, fans and then every time i fixed one - another would go. Every two months it overheated. I sure hope this will not be the case with the SX4. I need a realible car as i don't have cell service on 70% of my 70 mi round trip commute. I shouldn't be havin these issues at least until the damn thing paid off in April! I keep up on all the services, etc.
