Default Electric Mirror

Hi, this is my first post on this forum so please be patient with me !!!

My problem:
Car is a Japanese imported 2010 SX4 1.6 petrol.
I damaged left hand side door mirror beyond repair.
Purchased a replacement from a dismantler here in Italy.
New mirror is connector block is different from the Japanese in the door of my car.

Thought this would not be a difficult problem to rectify, but cannot get it to work. Would anyone have any knowledge of what colour wires I need to connect together to solve my problem.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Roberto.

GLad to see you here. Please take time to transfer your info (Italy, 2010 SX4 1.6 petrol, km, etc) ...to your profile or signature (USER CP) so we know each time you come back.
NOw try this:
www.avigex.ca/sx4/mirrors416.pdf
You say your car is Japanese import but most in Europe, I think, came from the then Magyar Suzuki/Fiat plant in Esztergom, Hungary. Fiat Sedici , SX4 copy, also came from that plant. hence the possibility of different arrangements in the models your replacement mirror comes from.

Default Thank you

Thank you very much for your reply, I downloaded the pdf but I'm not electrician, and I can't understand the scheme.
Can you tell me which wires I have to join to make the Hungarian connector work ? thanks a lot.

Roberto.

OK...difficult...I see no correlation between the diagram colors and your sockets wire colors.
YOu show one square socket and one rounded one. Both are female. Are these from both mirrors ? I would rather have seen three sockets: one from the car, and one from each mirror (original and replacement).
ALso, are your mirrors fixed type or retractable (as shown on the diagrams, the third motor....) ? From the number of wires that you have, they are probably fixed type.

EDIT: There should be numbers printed on the sockets. From what I see, 1 and 2 (not used in your case) are for mirror retraction. 3 and 4 for the mirror heater. 5,6,7 for mirror position adjustment. I think your white rounded socket is the original (please confirm). Just confirm which socket is your original. The thrid socket (male) that I do not see in your pictures is probably part of the switch block and this is why you did not take a photo. Once I lknow a few more elements from you, I'll probably be able to indicate how to cut and splice the wires to the original socket so you can connect and at least make a few tests, and through a limited nuber of trial and errors, find the exact combinaison. DO you have a multimeter ?

Hi, the original socket is the rounded one (hungarian type) and the square come from the dismantler I bought to replace the original. Is fixed mirror. The other connector is under the panel of the car that I've dismounted and remounted but I've not taked a picture.
In some forum told me to join in this order

black to white
white to black
red to pink

But I'm not sure.

Thank for your preciuos support.

Roberto

...from wha t you said before, I thought the "original" came from Japan.....does that confirm that your car is in fact from Hungary ?

On your original socket, I see a pair or black/greenstripe wires. THey are most probably for the heater. THen white, black and red for mirror control.
ON the replacement socket, I see a pair of brown, a pair of white and one grey. WHere is the pink you mention ?
so for me,
black to white
white to black
red to pink?

is meaningless. There are 5 wires to connect, not 3.
I "think" the brown wires (on the replacement mirror) are going to the mirror heater, hence would require to be connected to the black/greenstripe pair of the original socket. THat is why I asked if you had a multimeter.....because I would test. I do not go blind...even though here, not much harm can occur.....
