Hey there, just recently got an 09 sx4, i cant seem to get the shifter to move to 5 or reverse, i can shift in 1-4 no problem, what are your thoughts?

ok...5 or reverse are on the extreme right, down and up...are you able to move the lever ffrom neutral to the right..or is it that once there you cannot move up or down ?
in the mean time, see this

and fill up your profile/signature in the USER CP, with location, car model(sedan or hatchback) , AWD or not, engine type (varies with country) mileage....and change your title (EDIT your first post) with something that best describes the question...nobody will search for "newbie"...but will for "shifter problem"...or the like. REmember your thread MUST serve for others coming with similar problem.

I can not even move shifter to right.

UP TO the right, click Search this forum and write shifter. Several threads will come up. Several reported a slack in the cables but there may be other issues.
ANd read the link I posted in #4.
