Default Auto door lock

Hi everybody,

Just like that, yesterday my wife's SX4 Sport decided that from now on, it would lock all doors after some time, ignition key in or out of the car, no matter. Maybe she pressed on some button she never did before, who knows ?

Is there a way to desactivate that feature ?

Thanks !

What year, what model; (basic, tech...?), details about equipment and options.
Also describe exactly the combinaison of actions that lead to what you describe .
YOu say "after some time".....some time after what ? Getting out of the car? Unlocking the car from the outside using the remote ?
One "normal" feature is if no door is opened after remote unlocking, all doors lock back after 30 seconds.

2012 Sport model. No special options installed ... I think, bought used.

You say that it's normal for the doors to loock after 30 seconds. Well it never did before. Before what ? Before last week.

It's my wife's car and she came back in the house getting something she forgot, after starting the car and when she went back, the car was locked. She doesn't remember if the doors lock once on the way, probably, I'll have to go check.

Anyways, is there a way to disable the auto lock feature ? A relay I could remove, a fuse ?

Thanks

DO you have a remote starter ? THe way you tell it, I understand the engine was started with remote, then the doors were unlocked with remote...but on the way to the car, wife turned back to house and did jnot come back within 30 seconds from unlock...so doors did lock back. NOrmal.
UNlock again and enter the car within 30 seconds.
Standard feature, to prevent unknown person to enter the car and go with possessions or car itself while it was unlocked. The user manual describes this feature. NO way to defeat it.

No remote, but thanks LMP. I'll search if there's a relay or fuse I can pull.

sounds like the "anti hijack" feature has been inadvertently enabled, this locks the doors after starting to stop anybody trying to "carjack" you. Not usually a factory option. I know the feroza's had a recall for this, wonder if you have a faulty security module?

Repeat: this is standard feature, described in the user manual...if one takes the time to read it.

ON the other hand, very early after wife bought that car in 2011, I realized that the car "intelligence" did exibit freak logic when one inadvertendly creates some conditions. (I have at least a thread about that in late 2011) Hard to pinpoint exactly the sequence of events, but I did have keys locked up in the car...happily having a 2nd set at hand..out of the car... is a must. But of course, I did not let it happen s 2nd time and I will NEVER let both key sets or remotes in the car. One set is permanently in a safe place in the house. My other car, KIA Sorento, has also shown freakies so the rule is the same.
From the time "they" have decided that artifical intelligence is better than ours, we are in possible trouble. ANd that applies to several other car features too.

Interesting, I'll look into that.

Thanks both.
