Thumbs down Head light problem

So my Suzuki has been sitting in my garage for a couple months and not starting. Along that time I replaced the RL break caliper and have not yet gotten the E-Brake cable connected back. The other day I went to move the car and noticed after disengaging the E-Brake the head lights turned on. Now that's normal but what was weird was the high beams turned on and would stay on and the only way to get it to turn off is to disconnect the battery. This same problem also happens when I turn on the head lights using the switch on the left of the steering wheel. The high beams turn on and I have to disconnect the battery to fix it. Also I notice when this happens the high beam light turns on, on the dash and it looks dim then when I switch to high beam mode it goes back to the normal looking indicator. Last thing, the right high beam light wont work. Idk if its the bulb or wiring.

If anyone could help me that would be amazing!

E_brake.....I suppose you mean Emergency brake, that I'd rather call hand brake....and not an Electronic/Electric parking brake that some cars have(and that I hate).
..of course, if it has a cable....that is a parking brake.

OK..crossover...but does that mean it is the tech version..with all the extra electronic gadgets that the lower models do not have. This detail is important...does the tech model has auto lights ON at night ? IN Canada, versions are labelled as J, JX and JLX. JLX is the equivalent to the Tech.
IS that a keyless start....? Did you carry the keyfob with you ? Take it away and see what happens...
ALso...a low voltage battery causes weirdies to electronic gadgets. Use a battery charger to fill her up and try again.

By E-Brake I mean the emergency brake / the hand brake

It is not the tech version. It does not have the keyless start. And I don't think it has auto lights at night.
And I tested the battery and it says full.

Also I went into the fuse box and switched the left headlight fuse and the right headlight fuse and the problem stopped but my high beams didn't work and when I disengaged the hand brake the headlights went crazy.

I should probably take a video showing everything.

THIs is the elecrical diagram...maybe it can help. It is from the 2007-2009 manual but it is probably the same .
Can you verify if all filaments are OK....this model turns the headlights ON from the ground side and a burned filament sometimes causes weirdies as reported in other threads.
www.avigex.ca/sx4/headlights.pdf
also see this one
www.avigex.ca/sx4/parking.pdf
on 2nd page , bottom left, the parking brake switch..that goes to the BCM. The brake fluid level switch goes separate to the BCM but will light up the same light on the dashboard.

THe BCM is an easy culprit....BUt usually (and hopefully) these weirdies come from very simple causes, burned filament, and the like. MAke sure the meter fuse (22) is OK..and I suppose you know there is an additional fuse box left of the brake pedal....you have to be an acrobat though...

I did change the high beam bulbs (put the left on the right and the right on the left) and it didnt make a difference. But I did notice the bulbs looked different, like someone bought 2 different kinds or bought the wrong bulb.

Ill have to check the fuse when I get home in an hour or so, it is raining so I will have to wait for the rain to stop first.

So I checked the meter fuse and it was fine.

It may be something between the left headlight and the right headlight.

for a start, replace both lamps and check the plugs for melting and shorting. I think you have a faulty lamp. As these "ground" a terminal on the lamp to make it light up, a broken filament can cause all sorts of strange things.

So I think I found my problem. Yesterday I accidentally left the headlight on for longer then I normally had and I heard a Big Bang so I ran and disconnected the battery. I didn’t get a chance to look for the source at the time but today I was just looking and the bulb that was stuck on exploded in the headlight assembly.

Now new problem. How do I remove the assembly so I can get the broken glass out

remove front grille, remove front bumper. 3 or 4 bolts hold the headlight assembly onto the body, remove those then you can tip it around to get the broken glass out.
