Default Hello from Newbie

Hi all, I am Robi.
I recently purchased a 2009 1.5 petrol SX4 48500 miles.
Never owned a Suzuki before, but it was at the right price and low miles for year.

It is a AWD although it is different from previous vehicles I am getting used to it.
Question: is it a Timing belt or chain and if so what interval change is recommended?
Q:2 The engine management light has come on! No difference to performance or fuel economy. Suggestions please.
Also I am looking for bog standard hand held diagnostic unit to test and reset light. Suggestions please.
I live in Scotland UK.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. The engine I believe is the M15A which use a chain drive.
