Smile check engine light and dpf light

Hello, i have a sx4 2007 modell, 1,9 diesel.
The car has a dpf light in the instrument panel.

One day the check engine light turned on. I went to a suzuki dealer, and the fault was that the pdf had clogged and needed a regeneration.

That is ok. But what i find strange, is that the pdf light has not turned on.
And according to the manual; if the pdf light turns on, the filter is starting to clog, and i need to drive 50km/h until it turns off.

But why didnt the pdf light turn on?
But suddenly the check engine light, and the pdf had clogged.

Does anyone have a clue

Welcome to the forum.
Unless I'm reading it wrong (quite likely) the DPF light comes on when you have the possibility of doing a regeneration with speed. If it blocks further you will get a code only showing the MIL light.
This being said I would have expected the DPF light to come on and if no further action was taken then the MIL/code to come on.

What the workshop manual has to offer........

Hi, and thanks for the answer

Yes, that is what i thought as well. But this has not happened in my case. That is what i dont understand. But thanks for the workshop manual, very good information

But when i read it, it talks about the "ECM" and "ECU".
Do you know if that is to different parts?
Because if it is, that could explain it.
Because that would mean that the "ECU" reacts before the "ECM", in my case.
And its the "ECM" that is controlling the PDF ligth as i can read from the workshop manual.
