Default Petrol light stays on when there is a full tank

hi all

my diesel light stays on even when i have a full tank i have just changed my speedo because i have just returned from spain and had to change the speedo showing mph any ideas why it stays on. many thanks brian

Is that a physical change or the programmed option ? If you had to interfere physically, there is always a possibility for a break of contact...etc...
Otherwise, ....specify details about your car....years ans mileage often are a factor...
