Default Suzuki SX4 ESP problem

Recently, the ESP malfunction light turns on several times and my SX4 loses a bit of control. have to turn off the engine. When restart the engine, the malfunction light of ESP is off but the engine light is on. The engine light wll go off automatically after a day without starting the car. Went to the service dept. The computer shows nothing wrong with the car.

I find out that each time when I turn on the engine with the brake padel. The ESP light will on. but yesterday, I didn't so this, and the ESP goes wrong again. Therefore, would like to know is there anyone experiencing the same problem as me? Any advice.

Thanks.

Hello,

I just took my SX4 a few days ago and I have the same problem.
The ESP light goes ON and stays ON, while I am driving. It goes Off only if I turn off the engine.
Did you fix your problem? What was the problem?

Yeah, the problem has been solved after they reinstalled the newest version of the "computer program" in my car. Good luck.

Cool

As an old Suzuki driver (I've had five of them now) it's always good to hear that someone has found a solution to a problem.

However, for those who are surfing the net and come upon this forum, it would be good to know all the pertinent data about this car with the ESP problem. PLEASE, fill in the blanks for us.

What year is it? Exactly what model is it? How many miles are on it and where are you from?
Suzuki's around the world are not all the same car, even within the same year and model.

I had a 2006 Forenza 4 door sedan that started having problems starting and once in a while it would backfire while starting. I took it in to my local Suzuki dealer and they performed a FLASH to the program chip in the Engine Control Computer. Problem solved!

Now, Suzuki knew that my car had that problem and should have issued a recall on it, but they waited for me to complain about the problem before doing anything about it. That's just so typical, of not only Suzuki but many auto manufacturers. Can you say, "Toyota" ?

Thanks for the good report,
The Shadow

I'm glad that they fixed your problem.
I will find out on wensday what is the problem.
My SX4 is an 4WD, GS, , 1.6, 120 HP and I just made 1100 km.
Outside is snowing and I tried a litle bit the ESP and it's working properly.

Have a nice day!
