Default 2007 SX4 AWD Hatchback - Air Bag Light on / Recall

Hello everyone,

I've recently had my 2007 sx4 (pre owned) and after having it for a month the air bag lights went on. I am residing in Canada.

I've read that 2007-2011 Suzuki SX4 is been recalled because of the airbag issue.

Since suzuki is now closed here in Canada the only way i can checked this out is with mitsubishi.

How do i fix this?

I dont want to pay for this issue. I just want to get some tip from you guys how did you handle it.

Thank you very much.

AFAIK the North American recall is related to the passenger seat sensor. Is this the cause of your problem?

Check the Suzuki Canada website to find the service center in your area (mine was the old Suzuki, now Mitsubishi dealer). Give them a call. They will scan the code, and if it is the right one, replace the seat sensor. I had mine done on my 2011 SX4 a few months back. It took about an hour to scan and replace the sensor. No cost!

I took my 08 with 234000km on it in (To my local Mitsubishi dealer that used to sell Suzuki, SAAB too.) and they have ordered me a new passenger seat bottom.
I'm still waiting for it to come in. (It's been 3 weeks.)
They said it would take an hour to replace.
