Default SLOOW Throttle response

I have a 2013 with 20,000 miles on it, Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed that the throttle response is worse and worse! If I pull out of a side street I need to add additional time to allow for accelerating up to speed? It was never like this in the past? I have a K&N A/F installed last summer (still clean) Just changed the oil & filter (full syn again 5-30) MPG is close to the same 25-27 all around driving. If I floor it yes it does come to life however that is not how I enjoy driving it around town. When I get up to speed it takes more throttle to keep it at a constant speed more so if pulling a hill! I know these 2.0's are not race engines however it used to be a pleasure to drive, now its an effort?
Possible dirty MAF sensor?? or something else just as simple??
Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Thanks
Nick

YOu may know this throttle is electronic, not mechanical (no cables or rods) . The comnputer takes your electrical input from the pedal, then translates it into a command to the actual throttle motor. YOUr car is rather recent so it is hard to think the throttle motor has gone lazy ...but it is nevertheless a possibility. I do not know where oyu live, so can weather (cold) be a cause ?...ALso did not mention if AUto or manual transmission..... PLese add real details.

Ah....found this "Sorry... I live in Milford NH (southern part of the state)" in another of your posts...I suggest you include that in your profile so we do not ask any more...

Resolved! I was able to soda blast (60 psi siphon blaster) the MAF sensor there are three sensors on the unit. I blasted all three about 2 seconds MAX on each sensor. Then I rinsed the unit under hot water for about 30 seconds to remove any remaining soda then used the 60 PSI to blow dry the unit Both the before and after blasting readings were the same. The SX4 now drives like it used to. I can now pull out of a side street and not worry about having enough time to get up to speed! Cheap easy fix!

Great! ...same thing happened to my Pontiac Transport 3.8 2 decades ago, with same symptoms. I should have remembered...even more as you had suggested it. Air filter had been removed for some time and a fine coat of mud had stuck to the MAF wires, isolating them from sensing the air flow.
