Default What version of the SX4 do I actually have?

Depending on who I ask at the former Suzuki dealer where I bought it, I get a different answer from each person. If this can be identified by its VIN, mine is JS2YB5A34A6310675 (a 2010 SX4 w/19,700 miles on it).

It's a pretty basic model, i.e., no cruise control, but it has everything I care about, plus a switch that enables me to either drive it in 2WD/FWD (set at this most of the time) or AWD, which I think is a great feature!

One other question: can I get an extra key or two with just my VIN? When I bought it, it was missing that little metal ID tag that's supposed to be on the key ring. Now, I should mention that this is more of a curiosity than a need to know, in that I've found one place on eBay for extra Suzuki keys and key-less remote transmitters that seems to be very reliable: <www.mykeyless.com>.

In Canada, the base model (no cruise control) came (unless you paid extra) without the roof rack and with 15in steel rims.
Being new to this model, notice that all the AWD components keep turning even when the coupling clutch is not engaged. THis means the fuel burn is always the same....either in 2WD or AWD.

Thanx for the reply, LMP. My 2010 SX4 actually has 16" wheels, the tires currently on it being P205/60R16 91Hs, and the manual suggests the same, a P205/60R16 tire.

As for the coupling clutch, I wouldn't know anything about that. However, I seem to be getting just shy of 24 mpg at the moment with it set in 2WD (or approximately 38 kilometers per US gallon ... or roughly 9.5 kilometers per liter).

I also had the former Suzuki dealership where I bought it thoroughly inspect that feature, and they said it checked out fine.

On the other hand, the car doesn't even have 20K miles on it yet, and I haven't had it a full month, either. So, there's still much to observe and learn ... but I do love driving it! I just hope I didn't make a mistake in the long run having chosen it. (crossed fingers!)

When I was doing all the research, it was getting a 5 star or almost 5 star rating across the board, e.g., such as at edmunds.com. Just the same, I simply cannot afford another costly mistake at this point in time.

Btw, I still don't know for sure the answer to my original question being, exactly what version of the SX4 do I have? One guy told me I have a Crossover. Another said I have a Technology. ???

Oh yeah, apparently the roof rack came as standard equipment here, not an optional extra. I honestly don't know, though.

The TECH model only (JLX in CANADA) has the electronic stability system.
the 3 models were JA, JX and JLX in Canada. JX and JLX only had the cruise control.
and the standard tires were respectively JA(base) 15in, JX (crossover) 16 in and jlx (tECH) 17in....
Maybe this can help..but indeed there are differences between the Can and US models.

You have a base SX4 AWD Crossover.
It is not a Technology as that would have cruise along with a number of other "techy" features like a Nav system.

Yes, the Base Crossover in the US did come with the roof rails.

Oh and LMP is correct, there is absolutely no difference in gas mileage between having it in AWD auto or 2WD/FWD.

I "think" there may be a slight difference in how much the computer lets full throttle actually get applied in AWD vs 2WD/FWD.
In normal driving I can not tell any difference and one questions why they even have the button/option to run just 2WD/FWD.
I just leave mine in AWD all the time for regular driving.
