Default Kizashi 2010 radio stopped working

hi guys
I recently bought a second hand Kizashi 2010 which I think is a fabulous little car. BUT the radio has just stopped working. All the displays work but no sound comes through. No evidence of the unit being 'muted'. It just doesn't produce any sound. Any ideas please?

Default possibly a fuse but how to change and which one?

it's possibly a fuse for the radio amplifier which is apparently different to the radio/cd fuse. It's apparently located on the passenger side but I cant work out where the fuses are and how to get to them. Any suggestions?
cheers, ta and happy festives :-)

Hi, what stereo system do you have? Is it the Rockford Fosgate or the non Rockford Fosgate.

The difference is the Rockford Fosgate has an amplifier in the system separate to the dash mounted head unit. This sounds likely to be the system you've got - going by the problem. Perhaps your amplifier (mounted in the boot behind the carpet, I believe?) has a problem and that is why you've got no sound. As you said checking fuses is the first thing to do, the amplifier may even have a fuse built into it?

Sorry I can't be much more help as I've got the "poverty pack" model with the non Rockford Fosgate head unit.

hey David, Andy here. No mine is the poverty pack as well. I'm at a total loss as to know what to do with this. If it's the RF system that has the separate amp and fuse then I am flummoxed since mine is the standard system. In the user manual that came with the car it talks about the radio/audio having two separate fuses. One on the driver's side and the other on the passenger's side. That's why I was thinking in the way that I was. Thanks for replying!!!

Is it under the three-year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper? Then you could let a dealer fix it.

That's a worry! How much warranty (if any) have you got left? It might pay to report it to the dealer and get it noted, so you're covered in the future if it fails again.
