Smile Speedometer

One of complaints I have with the Kizashi is that the speedometer digits are too small. Who needs the speedometer to go up to 140? If it was only up to 110 the speedometer would be so much easier to read. It's annoying to keep the car at 25,35,45 or 55 mph. I just found a solution to that problem,a Escort 9500ix radar detector. It is a GPS based radar detector so it can be set to display your current MPH. I clipped it to the headliner just above the rear view mirror.

A better solution would be to get the multi-function display between the speedo-tach to display the MPH. It seems similar to what GM has been using for several years (that do have MPH as an option) and I know that those units can be hacked to display info that was used during mule testing but blocked for production models. I don't know how to do it myself, but I do know that anything that runs on a microprocessor/any kind of rudimentary operating system can be hacked. (assuming of course MPH was ever included at all)

I solved the problem by mounting a Escort 9500IX radar detector just above and to the left of the rear view mirror. Accurate digital MPH is displayed on the face of the detector allowing me to see the speed every time I check the rear view mirror.
