Angry Emmision canister replacement labor

The dealership tells me "Good News" is the engine warning light is only the emmissions canister! "Bad News" is the canister cost $600, even "Worse News" is it takes 9.8 hours of labor to replace. Can this be real!

This (#1)? $412.00. Don't know about the labor.

Have you looked at replacing it yourself?

Where do you live?

(If you're in the USA don't you have a really long period of warranty that covers the emissions system of all new vehicles? Doesn't Suzuki also have a long power train warranty in the USA as well?)

There's a test procedure for the canister - do you know if they've performed it?

It also appears to be located down the rear end underneath. If you've got the AWD model it says to "remove rear diff assy" .

People, do not overfill your gas tank at fill up. When the pump clicks off, do NOT put another $1.00 in. This is one of the ways to avoid the canister problem.
