Default Clock Problem

Having issues with the clock on my 87 Samurai. The light works but there are no digits showing on the clock. Any suggestions, trying to avoid spending $60 on a replacement.
Thanks
Israel

I ordered a digital clock for my samurai. The digits themselves light up, no back light. Is yours different?

I'm not sure if yours is different than mine, but definitely has a light. I took some pics.

Yup , that`s different . Think most of us here have the square clock with NO back light .Its just horrid. I typed in clock to ebay the other day and come up with a few better options then the woefully inadequate clock in my sierra ,And im sure the cops wont take the clock sucks as an excuse if i blast through a school zone at the wrong time.

Broke down and bought the clock, the lcd worked but not the light. Lucky for me the light from my old one worked. How hard is it to find a replacement bulb?

Default Same clock problem!

Where can a person buy a clock that fits the Samurai connector and fits the hole? 1986 Samurai hardtop.

I bought mine from a used parts dealer online, you can do a google search, or check ebay.

go to a dealer and get one - it's tiny and can't cost more than a few cents. when i needed one my dealer gave it to me

incidentally, my clock light decided not to work for about four months. when i replaced the globe it still didn't, a bit inconvenient at night. suddenly, for no apparent reason it changed and is now on when the ignition is switched on (without the car lights). as long as it stays that way, i'm happy

I bought a new Dolphin clock from Suzuki Salvage. The clock doesn't seem to work out of the box. It's an LCD display. I just matched power, ground and ignition wires from the original connector. No Joy! anybody have suggestions on what I might have done wrong?

Q1 - have you verified power at the connectors?
Q2 - since you mention "matching" the wires, I have to assume the clock you purchased is not a direct replacement, - the clocks in my Suzukis all have four wires, you only mention three - are you sure you have it connected correctly?
Q3 - the clock came from Suzuki Salvage, and is presumably not a new one - have you considered that the clock itself may be defective?

The clocks are really simple devices - four wires - +12v power, ground, illumination & accessory - you need +12V power, ground & accessory (you used ignition which is acceptable), if you supply those and it doesn't work, it's probably defective.
