Default 2 Issues : won't stay started at idle, losing coolant, running hot

Hello guys, first time posting here, though I have referenced these pages for guidance times before, so, thank you for the wealth of knowledge you share!

Anyways, I have searched the forums and can't seem to find the specifics for my issues.

I recently did a tuneup and since it has not been keeping a solid idle and staying started...but runs good when driving for the most part - if I sit in neutral and hold the gas to idle, the engine even then sounds wavery. Before the tuneup it would keep a solid idle and stay started. I feel like there is a vacum leak of some kind. And I think it may be related to not being able to find where the 2nd small hose that comes out of the top of the air filter cover hooks back up to...it slipped off, but I feel like it hooked up to the carb somewhere. It is the hose furthest from the radiator. The other small hose is hooked up. But perhaps that hose is nothing to do with the issue.

Other issue. Went on a long trip and the car teases the Hot line all the time, just wavering within a cm to right on the line of HOT - it never overheated because I would constantly watch it and stop to add more coolant every 200 miles or so. . I have to add coolant every so often as it seems to be slowly diminishing. I have had to do a block seal on this before, and it seems to have sealed up...but maybe not? No coolant in my oil after a change - or atleast not enough to tell.
Could it be an inefficient/bad radiator? Radiator almost looks original.

Well, now I am in Austin TX and I will need to drive back to Denver on Monday. Any ideas what I could do about these issues?

According to the FSM one of the vac lines on the air filter box goes to the air control actuator near the air box itself the other will go to a check valve (small cylinder maybe black and orange orange side to air box) then from the check valve to the intake manifold i think. It has been over 10 years sense I have had the original air box in my samurai so all I have to go on is what is in the manual.

If you can't find where the loose vac line goes plug it with something, a loose vac line normally means a vac leak.

It may be time for a new radiator it only will hurt the wallet not the ride and try to find the leak and fix it proper, block sealer/stop leak is good for a quick fix but a proper fix is always preferred.
