Default Advice on buying this Samurai (CA)

I have been looking for a Samurai for a few weeks now and have come across one that I think I want to buy, but I want your guys advice. I do know a lot about cars or Samurai's (I have read a lot about them but I am a Land Cruiser guy) and so I would really appreciate your guy's advice on whether or not this would be a good buy. The guy is selling it on ebay and he lives 7 hours away from me so I won't be able to test drive it which is the major downside. Here is the link: Suzuki : Samurai JX in Suzuki | eBay Motors

The interior is in great shape, it has A/C, it has an audio system set up, and a tin top and you usually are lucky to find just one of these things in Sami's for sale. In the description he explains all the work he has done on it to fix it up (I would really appreciate if you guys would read that because a lot of it is meaningless to me because I don't know what it means) and all the new parts and rebuilt engine have very few miles on it. So- it looks like a great Sami, but if I go for it and bid what should I max out at? What is it worth?

Also, is there a way to make the tin top removable. Anyway I could remove it for the summer and put it back on for the winter?

thanks a lot guys, I could really use your advice!

That is a clean looking zuk and it's the rare model which is desirable. Looking closely i don't think that top is removable to put a Targa Bar on it but i could be wrong and maybe someone else could answer that..... It's all stock looking with no lift which is good for the buyer as it probably wasn't beaten.Me personally i would top out around $4500-$5000 but others may have a different idea. I do like it though and having air conditioning and the fancy interior is a big plus.

Let us know here if you get it as that is a really nice looking ride. be sure to look underneath and inside the door jams as a fresh new paint job can cover lots of rust.look at the two front wheel seals on the inside of the tire and see if it's leaking any oil..... grease residue is okay.these zuks have no top end but are great on county roads and extremely good in the trails..... much better than the jeep wrangler i had which some would probably argue

Default another sami

So the sami I posted above has 2 more days until the bidding ends. I was looking on craigslist and a guy near me is selling a Sami for $3,100 that is also in really good condition. It has a nice paint job, nice interior, A/C, smogged, and tin top. Only thing is he says the clutch is slipping and he bought a clutch kit and flywheel to repair it and he will include that if I buy it. I don't know how to fix it but how much do you guys think it would cost to get that fixed? Here is the link: Suzuki Samurai let me know if you guys think this would be a good buy at $3,100.
I'm a 17 year old buying my first car and I would really appreciate your guy's advice. thanks

also, he emailed me pics of the interior and it is mint

The Black one may be a better deal. Take it to a Reputable mechanic. Have it checked out. Have him quote you a price for the clutch swap while you're at it.
I think you will find that it is a better deal.
The red Zuke is a good looking rig. But it's priced right at the upper limmit of its value.
If you plan any mods at all you will be upside down .
