Default Flat towing a Jimny behind motorhome.

It has been suggested that you can flat tow a 2009 4WD Manual Jimny if you remove the rear tailshaft. If you do this and put the manual gearbox into neutral with the 2WD option selected, will this be OK?
I have been told that you can also drive the Jimny without refixing the tailshaft. Is this correct? and would you then have to select the 4WD setting to give you a 2WD FWD capability.
All very confusing. Any advice would be gratefully received.

I thought one way to go is using an A frame but I have no first hand experience of this as I always drive autos these days.
