Default and it poured gasoline for 40 days and 40 nights

So i put an old sprint carb on the sammy and it was pretty old i could smell the varsol, anyway turn the ignition, pump starts goin and then the carb fills to the top with gas a keeps pourin everywhere, i let i settle a?d now it wont even turn over, so what happened? Maybe float stuck and then i hydrolocked? Please confirm my thought please before i just throw a match at it, not really..... but gettin pretty frusterating !!!!!

Hydro lock. Pull you're plugs and slowly evacuate the fuel from the cylinders, then change your oil, then repair the carb and try again.

Default i wont sit idle with no idle

So what could possibly be the culprit for only idling for like 5minutes then boggin out?

Over fueling. Stuck float and partialy clogged fuel line.

Not the same carb that flooded the intake and combustion chambers. Its a different carb that runs really good but dies after 5minutes of smooth idle, boggs out like it just dies. What do you think?

so when it stops being smooth does it hunt before it dies? check hoses thats a good place to start.
