Unhappy tranny? Steering?87 Sammy

My sammy is making a weird creaking noise when I turn the wheel it does not have power steering, and no A/c. The other issue is the engine speed will increase but no speed increase , it will rev real high and quick then bog down until the actual speed of the car starts to increase. The clutch is 1 1/2 years old the engine almost has 9,000 miles on it. This all started after I left the oil cap loose. So is a oil soaked clutch the problem, and if so what do you do to clean it or resolve the problem thanks for the help.

I got no answers for my problem yet, Bill John do you have any ideas, you always have a answer for most of the sammy problems.

Could the 'creaking' in the steering be underlubrication
so that the joints are stiff?
Could the u joints in the front axles be dry, causing
sounds being carried into the cabin?
Could the steering box bolt holes be cracking the
frame around the attachment points ?

If you suspect the clutch plate having oil on it
sometimes there is a distinct burned oil smell with
a very small cloud of blue smoke escaping from the
bell housing area once the clutch has been heated
up by slipping the clutch. At other times the clutch
seems to catch suddenly or chatter before engage-
ment into gear.
Get a trusted opinion about the clutch situation,
if you cannot diagnose it by yourself.
