Default Not picking up fuel pressure

I took the fuel pump off to replace the gasket, at the same time, i replaced the fuel filter. When i put it back together it wont pickup fuel. I poured gas in carb and let the motor run with the fuel pump outlet disconnected, and it didnt built any pressure, i checked the fuel filter and its dry. I tried 3 different fuel pumps, and same thing everytime, help suzuki masters.

I've seen the same problem. There is a small pin that drives the pump. It can be out of place or worn. My mechcanic had to replace the pin with a new one when he replaced my pump on my 87. I wasn't there to watch it done, just going by what he told me.
Hope this helps?

the pin is real easy to change once the fuel pump is of the pin just slides out

Thank you both for the fast replies! Well I did take out the pin to inspect it because I was suspecting this also. It looked fine, I have another pin I can swap out and try. But the funny thing is, it worked fine, until I removed the fuel pump. I'm pretty sure the pin wasn't out of place, I made sure it was all the way in before I bolted in the F.P.

Are you using the fuel pressure regulator that Gary (Petroworks) supplies or is it a cheaper Spectre unit? If you are using the Spectre regulator you may not know that it doesn't function at the low pressure (2-3 lbs) that the Harley carb needs to run. It will lock up right away.
