Default Temp Sensor Diagnosis

87, 1.3 with 2-wire sensor at block/t-stat. Any way to ohm it out? Had to re-solder and heat shrink tubing on it a year ago and worked all winter. Gauge reads cold all the time, even at 109! Rest of gauge cluster works.

Where can I get a factory replacment if needed?

Thanks!

Yup - the gauge is a single wire sensor - connect a low wattage 12V lamp (5W license plate or similar) between the sender lead & the block, turn the ignition on and see if the gauge moves from cold - if it does replace the sensor, if it doesn't check for a broken wire.
