Default i have a samurai that is 2x2 convering it to 4x4

how can i make my 2 wheel drive samurai into a 4x4 what do i need to do it

1. Replace the front axle with a live axle (w/a differential and locking hubs)
2. Replace the transfer case (shell) that you have with a 4x4 transfer case
3. Add a front driveshaft between the two
4. Remove the cover plate between the seats and install the shifter and boot.

Except for the light in the dash, that's pretty much it.

how do i find what size gears i have

Your differentials are 3.73:1
And your transfer case is basically straight through so it's 1:1

Default i got 4x4 parts off a 1988 samurai

are the gears the same in a 88 to a90

All of the Sammy's had 3.73 gears in the diffs (86-95).
It was the Track/Kicks that had a variety.

That's pretty good considering that includes a complete front axle AND a t-case.
