Default Vin decoder?

I was wondering about a Vin Decoder for the samurais. I have an 88 according to the title but was wondering about all the extras. The build date was 1/88 on the dash plaque.

hahaha, decote what? its not hard to tell what you got by looking at the rig. you already know its a 88. well the only other options are, jx, or hardtop.

Straight from the Factory Service Manual...



And if you have a US model Samurai, then there is only one engine type - 1.3ltr gas. So there is not much more you can figure out from the VIN.

There is another ID tag you will find in the left side of the drivers footwell that will show the paint code. But that's about it.
